Purpose
GlaMap may create business listings from government/public records or other authorized sources before a business owner creates a GlaMap account. This Policy explains how an authorized person can claim and manage an eligible business listing.
What Claiming Means
Claiming a listing establishes that GlaMap has accepted an account as an authorized manager of that GlaMap business profile. It does not transfer ownership of public records, guarantee legal ownership of the underlying business, or erase source/provenance information.
Claim approval does not constitute GlaMap endorsement, licensing approval, or a determination that the claimant satisfies every legal requirement to operate.
Who May Claim
- Business owner.
- Authorized officer, manager, or employee with authority to manage the business's GlaMap profile.
- Authorized agent where GlaMap can reasonably verify the agent's authority.
A claimant must use truthful information and must not claim a business they do not own or have authority to represent.
Claim Process
- Select 'Claim this business' on an eligible unclaimed listing.
- Sign in or create a GlaMap account.
- Provide requested identity/business contact information.
- Complete one or more verification methods.
- Accept applicable GlaMap Terms and policies.
- After approval, receive authorized profile-management access.
Verification Methods
GlaMap may use one or more methods depending on risk and available data:
- Verification through a business email domain.
- Telephone or SMS verification using a trusted business contact.
- Document review, such as a business license, government registration, tax/business document, lease, utility record, or other reasonable evidence.
- License-record matching for regulated establishments or professionals.
- Manual verification by GlaMap support.
- Other secure verification methods reasonably designed to establish authority.
GlaMap should collect only the information reasonably necessary for verification and restrict access to sensitive verification documents.
Duplicate or Competing Claims
If multiple people claim the same business, GlaMap may pause management changes while it reviews authority. GlaMap may request additional documentation, contact previously verified administrators, or temporarily restrict sensitive profile changes.
GlaMap may designate different account roles where appropriate rather than forcing a single administrator, but ownership/administrative authority must be controlled securely.
What a Verified Claimant May Manage
- Business description, photos, hours, services, booking settings, and other owner-managed profile fields.
- Worker/Technician memberships and eligible service assignments.
- Contact and operational information, subject to GlaMap verification rules.
- We're Hiring ON/OFF, worker types/skills needed, and the optional hiring note.
- Responses to customer reviews if that feature is enabled.
Some government-sourced fields may be locked, source-labeled, or require correction through the Data Correction process rather than direct editing.
Public-Record and License Fields
When GlaMap displays a government-sourced license status or similar official record, an owner-submitted edit should not silently overwrite the authoritative source. GlaMap may display owner-provided information separately, refresh the government source, or direct the user to correct the underlying government record.
Reasons a Claim May Be Rejected, Suspended, or Revoked
- Insufficient evidence of authority.
- False, forged, misleading, or inconsistent information.
- Impersonation or attempted account takeover.
- A verified ownership/authority dispute.
- Fraud, platform abuse, security risk, or material policy violations.
- The business is closed, nonexistent, duplicated, or otherwise ineligible for a claim.
- A legal order or other lawful requirement.
Change of Ownership or Management
A sale, transfer, closure, or material management change may require re-verification. Existing administrators should not transfer account credentials to a buyer or new manager; GlaMap should support a controlled administrator-transfer or re-verification process.
Security
Claimants must protect their credentials and use available security controls. GlaMap may require additional authentication for high-risk actions such as changing ownership, payout information, primary contact information, or administrator access.
Appeals and Disputes
A claimant may contact GlaMap if a claim is denied or revoked. GlaMap may request additional evidence and may maintain restrictions while a dispute is unresolved. GlaMap is not a court and may require parties to resolve underlying legal ownership disputes outside the platform.
Contact
Business claim questions and supporting information may be submitted through the in-product Claim flow or to support@glamap.guru.
