Scope and Overview
GlaMap is a service-discovery and booking platform that helps customers discover Stores, Workers/Technicians, and independent Freelance Professionals across supported service categories. This Privacy Policy explains how GlaMap collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information when people use GlaMap websites, mobile applications, accounts, booking tools, messaging, business-claim features, Find Work/We're Hiring features, and related services.
This Policy applies to Customers, Store Owners and administrators, Workers/Technicians, Freelance Professionals, people who claim or correct business listings, and visitors. A Store or independent provider may separately collect information in connection with services it provides; its own privacy practices may also apply.
Information GlaMap May Collect
2.1 Account and identity information
- Name, display name, email address, telephone number, account identifiers, login and authentication information.
- Profile photo and other profile information voluntarily provided.
- Age or date-of-birth information where required for eligibility, safety, or regulated services.
2.2 Provider and professional information
- Store/business name, address, service area, business contact information, hours, services, pricing, photos, descriptions, and business identifiers.
- Worker/Technician or Freelancer skills, specialties, portfolio, experience, languages, service locations, availability, and professional profile information.
- License, certification, credential, expiration, status, and verification information for services where verification is required.
2.3 Booking, transaction, and service information
- Requested and completed services, provider, appointment date/time, status, price, cancellations, rescheduling, and related booking records.
- Payment-related transaction metadata. GlaMap should use compliant payment processors and should not intentionally store full payment-card numbers unless a future payment architecture expressly requires and lawfully supports it.
- Customer reviews and ratings tied to eligible customer interactions.
2.4 Location and device information
- Approximate location, search location, ZIP code, city, or service area used to return nearby results.
- Precise device location only when the user grants applicable device/app permission and the feature requires it.
- IP address, browser/device type, operating system, app version, language, identifiers, diagnostic events, security logs, and similar technical information.
2.5 Communications and support
- Messages sent through GlaMap, support requests, reports, claim requests, correction requests, and communications with GlaMap.
- Information submitted when reporting fraud, abuse, safety concerns, review violations, or inaccurate listings.
2.6 Public and licensed business information
GlaMap may obtain business-listing and professional-license information from government/public records and appropriately licensed or authorized data sources. Examples may include business name, address, license number/type/status, issue or expiration information, and other public business information. GlaMap may create an unclaimed listing before the business owner creates an account.
How GlaMap Uses Information
- Provide, operate, maintain, personalize, and improve GlaMap.
- Create and manage accounts, profiles, business listings, Store memberships, and provider relationships.
- Power search, maps, service discovery, recommendations, availability, and booking.
- Process and administer bookings, cancellations, customer support, and transaction records.
- Enable Store-Worker connection features such as We're Hiring, Find Work, profile viewing, and messaging.
- Verify businesses, ownership claims, licenses, credentials, and account security.
- Display customer reviews and ratings for Stores and Workers/Technicians where applicable.
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, spam, scraping abuse, fake accounts, fake reviews, security incidents, and prohibited conduct.
- Measure product usage, troubleshoot, conduct analytics, and improve search and product performance.
- Comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce agreements, and protect users, GlaMap, and others.
How Information May Be Shared
GlaMap may disclose information as needed to operate the platform. Depending on the feature, information may be shared with the Store or provider involved in a booking, with a Worker assigned to a service, or with a Customer as necessary to complete the service.
- Service providers and processors supporting hosting, cloud infrastructure, authentication, communications, analytics, fraud prevention, maps/location, payments, customer support, and security.
- Public users when information is intentionally published on a Store, Worker/Technician, Freelancer, or business-listing profile.
- Government, regulators, courts, law enforcement, or other parties when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and security.
- A successor or transaction participant in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law.
GlaMap should not describe itself as selling personal information unless its actual practices meet the legal definition. If GlaMap later engages in conduct treated as a sale or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising under applicable law, the public policy and opt-out controls must be updated before launch of that practice.
Public Profiles, Reviews, and Listings
Information intentionally placed on public profiles may be visible to other users and search engines, depending on product configuration. Customer reviews of Stores and Workers/Technicians may be displayed publicly. GlaMap does not use an internal Store-to-Worker or Worker-to-Store workplace review system under the current product design.
Unclaimed business listings may contain information from public records or authorized sources. A business may use GlaMap's Claim process to establish authorized control of a listing. Claiming a listing does not automatically erase the provenance of government/public-record information.
Data Retention
GlaMap retains personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing services, maintaining booking and transaction history, complying with legal/accounting obligations, resolving disputes, preventing fraud, enforcing agreements, and maintaining security. Retention periods should be documented internally by data category.
Deletion of an account does not necessarily require deletion of information that GlaMap must or is permitted to retain, such as fraud-prevention records, legal records, completed transaction records, or de-identified/aggregated information.
Security
GlaMap should use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information, including encrypted transport, access controls, least privilege, secure password storage, audit logging, rate limiting, secure secret management, vulnerability/dependency management, protected backups, and environment separation. No system can guarantee absolute security.
California Privacy Rights
If GlaMap is subject to the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents may have rights regarding access/knowledge, deletion, correction, portability, opt-out of sale or sharing, and limitation of certain uses/disclosures of sensitive personal information, subject to statutory exceptions. GlaMap must not unlawfully discriminate against a consumer for exercising applicable privacy rights.
Where required, GlaMap should provide the notices and request methods required by California law, verify requests as appropriate, honor authorized-agent requests when legally valid, and maintain a printable and conspicuously accessible privacy policy. The production policy must be updated to accurately describe the categories collected, sources, purposes, disclosures, retention practices, and any sale/sharing practices for the relevant lookback period.
Other U.S. State Privacy Rights
Residents of other states may have additional rights under applicable comprehensive privacy laws. GlaMap will honor applicable rights based on the user's jurisdiction and GlaMap's legal obligations. The launch team should maintain a state-law applicability matrix as GlaMap expands.
Children's Privacy
GlaMap is not designed for children under 13. GlaMap should not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without legally sufficient parental consent. If a feature is later designed for minors, the feature must receive a separate legal/privacy review before launch.
International Users and Transfers
If users access GlaMap from outside the United States, their information may be processed in the United States or other countries where GlaMap or its service providers operate. Expansion outside the United States should trigger jurisdiction-specific privacy review and, where required, transfer mechanisms and localized notices.
